Turin is proud to host the ‘origins’ movie in the blockbuster “Kingsman” franchise for it’s last 2 weeks of production. Helmed by English film producer, writer and director Matthew Vaughn, production commenced in the UK in January 2019 and shooting in Turin commences April 24, 2019.
The official cast includes: Ralph Fiennes, Rhys Ifans, Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode, Djimon Hounsou, Harris Dickinson, Charles Dance, Tom Hollander, Daniel Bruhl and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Filming locations will be the Royal Castle of Racconigi, La Reggia di Venaria and the Royal Palace of Turin. Exteriors will be shot in Lungo Po Diaz, the road that runs alongside the river Po in Turin, and in via Andrea Mensa, in Venaria.
Around 100 film professionals will be involved in the production team, key members among them Location Supervisor Mara Cereda, Location managers Federico Fusco and Emanuela Minoli and Casting Directors Laura Leonardi, Elena Aime and Stefania Monge, who have been casting for as many as 1400 featured roles (40 local actors being cast in small roles).
“It is immensely rewarding to be able to host such an internationally successfull film that will bring a great cast to Turin - says Paolo Damilano, Chairman of the Film Commission, adding that “this is the first time we host such an impressive “production machine”: suffice to say that the two-week shooting schedule has called for a long and complex 12-week prep stage”.
Intense location scouting during the pre-production stage, which covered several weeks, helped optimize logistics and crew work on the sites, as well as build and dress the required sets.
Part of pre-production stage took place at Lumiq Studios, where the Production Company set up its head-quarter also thanks to Rai and Centro di Produzione Torino.
It should also be mentioned TOP IX that will provide support for Internet and broadband.
The Kingsman origins movie is produced by Marv Studios. Eagle Pictures are the Italian service company. The movie is made with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte.
