Film Commission Torino Piemonte

Gerald, a well educated, young immigrant from Mali who speaks fluent Italian, left his country to come to Italy and achieve his dream of starting a farmers' co-op so he can help his parents back home. While working as a farmhand in Saluzzo to save up the funds needed for his business he gets sucked into the local illegal workforce system. 

Cinghia, the most feared gang master, couldn't be any more different than Gerald as a person.  Nevertheless, due to a series of coincidences and unexpected circumstances, the immigrant suddenly finds himself on the “enemy's” side. But every cloud has a silver lining: a glimpse of humanity seems to put a stop to the brutal setting of the story.  

The situation is once again aggravated by Cinghia's nephew, Enzo and his friend Mariano, a corrupt policeman and a victim of a loan shark due to his gambling debts. Once again Gerald has to make his way through light and darkness, choosing between his salvation or the others'.
