It is a documentary intended for the television market that outlines the political-cultural context that led to the founding of Iulia Augusta Taurinorum in the first century BC. by the will of the emperor Octavian Augustus.
The time frame covered in the film starts with the death of Julius Caesar (44 BC) and ends with the foundation of the city of Turin (30 January 9 BC), describing the fundamental stages that led to the sunset of the Roman Res Publica and the establishment of the Empire. This transition has marked the history of the Western civilization and has proposed a model, that will become the pioneer of reinforcing central power thanks to a wise use of images, religiosity and propaganda aimed at manipulating the masses.
