The planet Earth is in ecological  bancruptcy. The Millenium Ecosystem Assesment, the report 2005 of the FAO written by 1400 scientists says that in the course of three hundred years the human race shall be extinguished and the culprit of this disaster  is for 75% the industrial food production...But there are some that "resist": for 25 years the Slow Food Movement has been awaking the consumers' conscience to consider food as a product of culture as well as of an eco system that should be protected. Because - as the founder of the Slow Food Carlo Petrini points out -"an environmentalist that is not a gastronomist is pathetic but a gastronomist that is not an environmentalist is stupid". But who is Carlo Petrini? Starting from Bra, a small town of 27 thousand inhabitants, Carlin has created a movement that today has 90 thousand members in 130 countries with a strong impact on culture of our time. This is a story full of joking, hangovers and travelling, of won and lost bets always taken with that ironic catchy attitude: it is the story of a real revolution fought with a fork and a knife. In three words: Slow Food Story.

The film tells the story of Slow Food Movement from its beginning to its spreading worldwide. It is done through the biography of its  charismatic founder Carlo Petrini called Carlin and the group of friends and collaborators that have accompanied him in this adventure. Starting from Bra, a little town with 27 000  inhabitants in South Piemont, Carlin from nothing has created a movement thet today has 85 000 members in 130 countries. The movement has had an enormous impact in the world of gastronomy if not even in the culture of our time. A story full of partying and  traveling, of lost or won bets but always full of good spirit, contagious humor and catching irony. An important story because it reminds us how even the most important cultural adventures can be created from a humorous  and easygoing approach far away from dusty cathedrals of knowledge. It is worth of being told because it also shows in the background the big picture of food in the world: the emergencies of the agricultural food production and the most important gastronomic topics in our globalized world.
