Viviana is a ballet dancer. She meets a poet who lets her spend the night in his home. The following morning, Viviana discovers that the man has disappeared and decides to go to the office where the poet works. She describes the poet to a reporter and reads a poem that the poet had left her before disappearing. The reporter informs the woman that those verses were written by the Italian poet and novelist Cesare Pavese, who committed suicide on August 27th, 1950.
