An additional €12 million has been allocated to the Piemonte Film TV Fund. This funding is in addition to the more than €21 million already invested in the three-year period 2023–2025 to support cinema and audiovisual production.

Announced at TFI Torino Film Industry institutional panel organised by Film Commission Torino Piemonte, the allocation of new resources of €7 million for 2026 and a further €5 million for 2027 will go to the Piemonte Film TV Fund, the main regional instrument supporting film and audiovisual production.

The new call for proposals will be published by next spring and confirms Regione Piemonte's commitment to continuously strengthening its support for a sector that is strategic for the cultural, economic and employment growth of the region.

In addition to the new measure, a further €600,000 will be allocated to finance the continuation of the three-year calls for proposals for the promotion of film activities and the enhancement of cinemas, confirming the consistency of a political vision that integrates interventions in production, cultural infrastructure and territorial dissemination.

With these new resources,” said President Alberto CirioCouncillor for Culture Marina Chiarelli and Councillor for Budget and Productive Activities Andrea Tronzano, “we are strengthening a multi-year strategy that has already yielded concrete results. Cinema is culture, but it is also industry, work and identity. The Piedmont Region supports it with effective tools, careful planning and investments that generate real value. Our goal is to make Piedmont an increasingly attractive and competitive region, capable of engaging with major international productions and promoting its local excellence.

The new investment is part of a process that has already been firmly underway for the three-year period 2023-2025, during which the Region has allocated over €21 million to support the entire supply chain.

Within the Piemonte Film TV Fund alone, €8 million has been allocated between 2023 and 2024, which has enabled the financing of 28 projects, generating direct expenditure in the region of €26,920,000 and an economic multiplier of 3.36. Over the three-year period, the fund will reach a total allocation of €15 million, enabling the financing of 41 projects including films, series and animation, confirming its central role in the regional strategy to attract and support productions.

In addition to supporting production, the Region has invested €750,000 in promoting film festivals and circuits, and €1,050,000 in promoting independent cinemas through three-year calls for proposals. A further €5 million has been allocated to a call for proposals, open until 2026, for structural and technological interventions aimed at modernising and reactivating existing cinemas.

This is not just a time for numbers, but for continuity and consolidation,” said Councillor Andrea Tronzano, speaking at the Circolo dei lettori. “We have built a public policy capable of generating measurable results, through dialogue with businesses, cultural operators and institutions. With the new resources for 2026, we are confirming our trajectory: to make Piedmont an attractive and dynamic area for cinema, with a supply chain ready to take on the challenges of the future.

The announcement of new funds to support the sector allows us to look forward with even greater confidence to the work of the coming years, in which we will continue to focus on internationality, quality and responsibility, our strategic assets. The Piedmontese film industry is growing and taking shape: we are proud that the Film Commission – also through TFI Torino Film Industry – is considered the control room and an active part of this process.

The variety of locations, an increasingly qualified supply chain, our headquarters that has become a home for crews, and a well-established network of services and support have allowed us to increase the quality and quantity of productions that choose Piemonte.

Special thanks go to our partners and the organisations that accompany and support us: Città di Torino, another founding member alongside Regione Piemonte, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo – which has been providing full support for the Development Call for Proposals for three years – the Camera di commercio di Torino and Ceipiemonte,” said Beatrice BorgiaPresident Film Commission Torino Piemonte, and Paolo ManeraDirector Film Commission Torino Piemonte.
