Filming is underway in Piemonte for the feature film “The Trip to Piedmont (Piemonte)”, produced by Swedish company SF Studios with executive production by LUME, shot entirely in Piemonte.

The Trip to Piedmont (Piemonte), written and directed by Alexandra-Therese Keining, is being shot entirely in Piemonte with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte and with the contribution of the FESR 2021-2027 - ‘Piemonte Film Tv Fund’ - brings together four of Sweden's most beloved actors, Helena Bergström, Kjell Bergqvist, Björn Kjellman and Kajsa Ernst, alongside Peter Haber and Peter Dalle and several Italian actors.

A moving and heartwarming story set in the beautiful backdrop of Italy,  “The Trip to Piedmont (Piemonte) explores friendship and the beauty of second chances.

Filming is currently underway in Piemonte, with the premiere in Swedish cinemas scheduled for 2026.

Five weeks of shooting took place between September and October (in addition to weeks of preparation), involving numerous locations in Torino and Piemonte, including Andezeno, Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Pino d'Asti and Rivalba, as well as Avigliana and Pino Torinese, the latter two also involved thanks to the collaboration of FCTP's Regional network.

The production involved a large number of Piedmontese professionals in various departments (more than 80% Piedmontese), including Rossella Tarantino as Line Producer (General Organiser), Luca E. Garzigliato as Production Manager, Emanuela Minoli as Location Manager, Stefano Ruggeri as Assistant Director, Valentina Ferrani and Francesca Bocca in the set design department and Marco Fiumara as Sound Engineer.

The cast also included several Piedmontese and Italian actors, including Paola Sambo and Tommaso Basili, Federico Scribani, Laura Martinelli, Michela Fattorin, Aldo Rendina, Ettore Belmondo, Alessandro Giallocosta and Lorenzo De Pasquale.

 “The Trip to Piedmont (Piemonte) is produced by Jonathan Ridings and Jon Nohrstedt for SF Studios, in co-production with SVT and Film i Väst, with the support of the Turin Piedmont Film Commission and with the contribution of FESR 2021-2017 – CALL FOR PROPOSALS ‘Piemonte Film Tv Fund’, by the Swedish Film Institute, the Nordic Film & TV Fund, in collaboration with the production company LUME by Adriano Bassi and Lara Calligaro. Synopsis:

Four friends, all recently retired, embark on a trip to Italy, where Eva has inherited an olive grove. What begins as a simple trip to settle legal matters and organise a sale soon turns into something more. Once there, a question arises: what really awaits them back home in Sweden? Italy, on the other hand, offers sunshine, delicious food and charming inhabitants. And isn't it in the later stages of life that one should seize the moment and finally realise those long-cherished dreams?
