The 11th edition of MIA | Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo (International Audiovisual Market) will be held in Rome from 6 to 10 October, welcoming leading figures from the audiovisual industry from all over the world to the capital. Once again this year, Film Commission Torino Piemonte is one of the event's official partners.

The event, promoted by ANICA (National Association of Audiovisual and Digital Film Industries) chaired by Alessandro Usai, and APA (Association of Audiovisual Producers) chaired by Chiara Sbarigia, is directed by Gaia Tridente and will once again be held at Palazzo Barberini.

Now in its eleventh edition, MIA features over 80 events, including panels, conferences, research presentations, seminars, workshops and training sessions, keynote speeches and round tables, networking opportunities, as well as screenings in the Film section. There will be five showcases for 44 titles, including animations, documentaries, television formats, TV series and films, in addition to 62 projects for the co-production market, for a total of over 100 projects.

Film Commission Torino Piemonte is also taking part in the initiative this year, organising – as a MIA partner – a networking event, accompanying a project realised with its support, and participating in a panel.

Donato Sansone's Donnyland will be presented as part of UNBOX, an initiative that is now part of the official MIA programme in collaboration with Alice nella Città, dedicated to emerging directors who, after making their short films, aim to make their debut in the world of cinema and television series.

In Donnyland, produced by Giorgio Ferrero and Marco Quartana of the Piedmontese company Mybosswas and made with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte - Piemonte Film Tv Development Fund, starting from the trauma experienced during the 1980 earthquake in Basilicata, director Donato Sansone retraces his life through the characters of The Wizard of Oz, projecting himself towards a visionary future where fear and love dance in balance.

All the selected works will be presented in a pitch session followed by B2B meetings, during which the authors will be able to engage directly with a wide network of producers and potential partners.

Under the slogan The Talents of the Future, the UNBOX programme is curated by Francesco Giai Via and will offer a pitching session divided into three sections.

On Tuesday 6 October 2025 at 3 p.m. at the Cinema Barberini, there will also be a panel discussion entitled “The (second) Italian Job: Stolen, Heist of the Century - an Italian shooting case history”.

After the success of Vatican Girl, whose images were previewed worldwide at MIA Doc, producer Chiara Messineo and director Mark Lewis talk about their second collaboration on another Netflix title: Stolen: heist of the century, co-produced by Amblin Documentary.

The meeting, moderated by Marco Spagnoli - Deputy Director, Head of MIA Doc, will feature Chiara Messineo - Executive Producer (UK), Mark Lewis - Director (UK), together with FCTP Director Paolo Manera and Davide Valentini - Head of the documentary television series at Torino-based EiE film (Italy).

The documentary film Stolen: heist of the century, written and directed by Mark Lewis and produced with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte and the Piedmontese company EiE Film by Alessandro Carroli and Davide Valentini as Italian executive producer, is available on Netflix.

Stolen: heist of the century, based on the book Flawless by Scott Andrew Selby and Greg Campbell, is the new compelling documentary produced by RAW, in association with Amblin Documentaries, in collaboration with Wildside.
