During the spring of 2026, the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm is offering a film series entitled “Nuove voci del cinema italiano”, dedicated to the debut works of new voices in Italian cinema, curated by Giulio Sangiorgio, journalist and film critic for Film TV magazine.

The films in the series were presented in the Italian Competition – Debut Works at the 2025 Busto Arsizio Film Festival. They represent new directions in Italian cinema, with a strong focus on identity, marginality, education and contemporary fragility. The analysis of these first steps focuses on the debuts of the filmmakers. The intention is to create a space in which to recount the birth of a language, the spark of passion, the formation of talent and the initial journey that accompanies each author towards creative maturity.

Among the films scheduled are “Anywhere Anytime” by Milad Tangshir (Thursday 29 January, 6 p.m.), produced with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte and with the contribution of FESR Piemonte 2021-2027 - Bando Piemonte Film TV Fund; “Diciannove” by Giovanni Tortorici (Tuesday 31 March, 6 p.m.), produced with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte; and “L'incidente” by Giuseppe Garau (Tuesday 21 April, 6 p.m.), produced with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte.
