Film Commission Torino Piemonte

On Christmas Eve, Alberto Angela returns with a new episode of his successful programme “Stanotte a...”, dedicating the special to Torino.

Alberto Angela's “Stanotte a Torino”, an evening event dedicated to Torino, will be broadcast on Rai1 in prime time on 25 December.

Alberto Angela will take viewers on a journey through the elegant Savoy capital, a city of many firsts and priceless treasures, in a special programme produced by Rai Cultura, broadcast on Thursday 25 December in prime time on Rai1 and RaiPlay.

Directed by Gabriele Cipollitti and featuring several guests, including Giancarlo Giannini and Luciana Littizzetto, Alberto Angela will move through the streets and squares of the city centre, as well as the Savoy residences and modern structures, museums, historic cafés, squares and historic buildings, to recount anecdotes and curiosities about Torino. 

The crew filmed in the city between November and early December - with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte - and visited many locations, including the use of drones, such as: the OGR Torino, the Reggia di Venaria, the Basilica di Superga, the Museo Egizio, the Inalpi Arena, the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, Baratti & Milano, the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano, the Lingotto, the Mole Antonelliana and the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, the Subalpina Gallery, Palazzo Reale, the Rai in Via Verdi and the Teatro Regio.Many areas of the city were also filmed outdoors, including several squares and streets in the city centre such as Piazza Castello, Piazza Carlina, Piazza Carignano and Piazza Palazzo di Città, Piazza San Carlo and the Porte Palatine.

Alberto Angela filmed his first special, “Stanotte al Museo Egizio”, in Torino in May 2015, followed by “Stanotte a Firenze” and “Stanotte a San Pietro” over the years. From 25 December 2021 to 2024, “Stanotte a...” took viewers on a tour of Naples, Milan, Paris and Rome.
