The TV series entirely made in Turin and Piedmont “The law according to Lidia Poët” is one of the case studies that were discussed at the Italian Pavilion during the panel “Italian audiovisual in the global challenge”.
The second season, which tells the story of Italy’s first female lawyer, played by Matilda De Angelis, will be released in autumn.
During the panel “Italian audiovisual in the global challenge: successful case studies” held on 4 September 2024 at the Italian Pavilion as part of the 81st Venice International Film Festival, Matteo Rovere – producer for Groenlandia of the acclaimed TV series “The law according to Lidia Poët” – spoke with other leading producers of Italian audiovisual about seriality and production models. The meeting was organized by APA, the association of audiovisual producers.
In his speech, Rovere underlined how “The law according to Lidia Poët” brought a profoundly Italian story to the small screen that has become international in scope. The series has reached millions of viewers on Netflix, demonstrating the great global impact that Italian history and culture can have, and confirming the potential of the country's audiovisual productions, which can rely on top-level workers at every step of the production process.
The second season of "La legge di Lidia Poët" - made with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte - will see the first female lawyer in the history of Italy, played by Matilda De Angelis, return to the screens of the international platform in the fall of 2024.
