The winning films of the Official Competition of the 77th Cannes Film Festival have been announced and among the small number of works awarded, the TorinoFilmLab, organised by the National Cinema Museum, also saw one of its films stand out.

The Grand Prix was awarded to Payal Kapadia's ‘All We Imagine as Light’, the first Indian film to compete at Cannes in 30 years and one of four titles directed by female directors in this category.

The film is part of the long list of TFL FILM; almost 200 works to whose realisation the TorinoFilmLab has contributed in various ways, from the development of the screenplay to the support for distribution, the TFL Audience Design Fund (€45,000) that precisely ‘All We Imagine as Light’ won this year.
This is the second work by the Indian director who made her Cannes debut in 2021 with Night of Knowing Nothing, winner of the Golden Eye award for Best Documentary at the Fortnightly Cinéastes.

The protagonists Prabha and Anu, two nurses living in Mumbai, are both involved in impossible love stories. One day, the two women set off on a road trip to a seaside resort where the mystical forest becomes a space where their dreams can unravel.
A co-production from France, India, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Special Mention Caméra d'or for best first feature to ‘Mongrel’ by Wei Liang Chiang, a Singaporean author who, thanks to the ‘ScriptLab’ course, wrote the screenplay accompanied by experts from the TorinoFilmLab.

Through the story of Oom, a Thai citizen who, despite having no qualifications or training, assists the sick and elderly, the film brings to light the work of migrants and organised crime in the province of Taiwan.
Co-produced by E&W Films (Singapore), Le Petit Jardin (Taiwan) and Deuxième Ligne Films (France).

In addition, the Oeil d'Or Award for Best Documentary went to ‘The Brink of Dreams’ a documentary directed by director Nada Riyadh and director Ayman El Amir and supported financially by TorinoFilmLab with the TFL Audience Design Fund 2024 (€45,000).
