'Guarda che storia! Racconti per lo schermo": the 4th edition kicks off at the next Turin International Book Fair.

The Turin International Book Fair will be back at Lingotto Fiere from Thursday 9th to Monday 13th May, under the new direction of Annalena Benini, to welcome the community of readers of all ages who will meet Italian and international authors and will have the opportunity to discover the works of the publishing houses present, tracing together new imaginary lives. This will be the theme of the XXXVI edition of the Salon: Imaginary Life, that surprising and mysterious territory that gives life to a heritage of infinite possibilities. The theme of this edition thus becomes an archive, but also a possible map of the future. This edition will be a tribute to the imaginary life that drives creative life, in all its forms.

As part of a programme packed with events and guests, the collaboration between Film Commission Torino Piemonte and the Turin International Book Fair returns for the fourth year with "Guarda che storia! Racconti per lo schermo". Following the growing success of the previous editions, the fourth call for applications will be officially opened during SalTo 2024, with the aim of selecting the best original stories to be adapted for the small and big screen, activating and encouraging dialogue between the publishing world and the audiovisual industry. The initiative - aimed at publishing houses and literary agencies - will be presented to the public and industry professionals on Sunday 12 May at 5.30 p.m., in the Sala Berlino of the Congress Centre, with the announcement of important new features that will enhance the value of the project.

On the occasion of the opening of the new edition of "Guarda che Storia!", the author and screenwriter Antonella Lattanzi - who, in mid-May, will be involved in the launch of the film "Una storia nera" (A black story), based on her publishing success of the same name - will hold a masterclass on film and television adaptation, investigating the tools and transposition mechanisms at the basis of the path that leads from the written page to the big (or small) screen.

The activities linked to "Guarda che Storia!" will once again involve the Rights Centre, the space dedicated to the buying and selling of publishing and audiovisual rights, where the publishers of the finalist projects of the last edition (7 novels chosen from 131 candidate titles) - first presented in November 2023 in the setting of TFI Torino Film Industry - will have the opportunity to meet selected audiovisual decision makers and project development managers of the major production companies. The Rights Centre will also host a panel focusing on the publishing-cinema axis in the German market, which, thanks to the collaboration with Film Commission Torino Piemonte, will also feature Viola Film's producer Alessandro Passadore.

The programme of the XXXVI edition will be available in full at www.salonelibro.it from 12 April.
