"Non dirmi che hai paura" - produced by the Turin-based company Indyca and realised with the support of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte - will have its international premiere at the 23rd Tribeca Film Festival (New York, 6-16 June), the only Italian title in competition at the kermesse devised by Robert De Niro, in the International Narrative Competition section.

"Non dirmi che hai paura", based on the bestseller by Giuseppe Catozzella, brings to the big screen the true story of the young Somali sprinter Samia Yusuf Omar, who challenged the taboos of Islamic fundamentalism by running through the streets of Mogadishu in a society where women are not allowed to run. The young woman managed to participate in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, becoming a global symbol in the fight for women's freedom and rights. After returning from Beijing, the only way for Samia to be allowed to continue running is to leave Somalia, embarking on the journey to Europe with the dream of participating in the 2012 London Olympics.

The biopic directed by Turkish-German director Yasemin Şamdereli, in collaboration with Turin-based Deka Mohamed Osman is dedicated to the true story of the athlete Samia Yusuf Omar, played by actress Ilham Mohamed Osman.

Produced by Piedmontese company Indyca with Rai Cinema, Neue Bioskop Film, Tarantula, Bim Produzione, in co-production with Momento Film, Voo, Be.tv, Shelterprod, Film i Väst, in collaboration with Cinepostproduction, the Piranesi Experience is realised with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte.

Also representing Piedmont at the 23rd Tribeca Festival will be the fourth season of the well-known Rai-HBO series "My Brilliant Friend", also produced in Turin with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte in the autumn of 2022, which will have its world premiere in New York during the festival created in 2002 by Robert De Niro as a cultural response to the attack on the Twin Towers.
