The presence of the film 'The Damned', selected in competition at 'Un Certain Regard', the 'Piemonte Film Industry 2024-2025' panel and the delegation of companies from Piedmont.

The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival kicks off today, Tuesday 14 May. Serving as one of the most important appointments of international cinema and audiovisuals which, in parallel with the artistic kermesse, proposes the Marchè du Film, the most important European market dedicated to business and sector operators.

As for previous editions, Film Commission Torino Piemonte will be present at the festival, taking active part in the b to b activities of the market and accompanying Piedmontese companies and professionals in the presentation of their projects.

FCTP will also be present to accompany the feature film by Roberto Minervini"I dannati", selected in the competition whithin the prestigious "Un certain regard" section.

'I dannati' - produced by Okta Film and Pulpa Film with Rai Cinema and realised with the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte - will have its world premiere on Thursday 16 May and, on the same day, will be released in all Italian cinemas distributed by Lucky Red.

Further worth mentioning is Piedmontese company Imago VFX owned by Fabrizio Nastasi - supervisor of the entire post-production – who took care of part of the film's visual effects, as well as colour correction, finalisation and mastering.

The Italian Pavilion set up by Cinecittà at the Hotel Majestic will also host, on Saturday 18 May, the panel "Piemonte Film Industry 2024 - 2025": the event - organised by the Film Commission Torino Piemonte in collaboration with Regione Piemonte and Piemonte Agency - will present funds, opportunities and services that the territory makes available, as well as serve as an opportunity to announce the winning projects of the first session of the Piemonte Film Tv Fund.

For the first time ever, Piedmont will also partcipate at the Marchè du Film with a stand located at the Palais des Festival (level -1, 18.07) where the international community of distributors, buyers and workers will have the opportunity to discover and understand the excellence of the territory in the field of cinema, audiovisual and digital creativity and deepen knowledge on the skills of 8 SMEs of the territory that are part of the Integrated ICT Supply Chain Project of Regione Piemonte, financed by the PR FESR 2021-2027 and realised through Ceipiemonte.

The Piedmont delegation of companies operating in different sectors, from production to post-production, which will be present in Cannes consists of: Are Film, Cinefonie, Imago VFX, Lume Produzioni, Making Movies & Events, ODS, OMDT Pandora Creative Studios.
