The 5th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry will be back from November 24th to 30th, in conjunction and synergy with the 40th edition of the Torino Film Festival.

Meeting, market, and platform for international co-production that puts under the spotlight new talents and new trends in cinema and audiovisuals, TFI Torino Film Industry takes place once again simultaneously with the Torino Film Festival, further reinforcing their collaboration for this 5th edition and strengthening its identity as the work & business soul of the historic cinematographic event of the city.

From 2018 up to today, Film Commission Torino Piemonte - which has been coordinating the initiative since its first edition -, TorinoFilmLab and Talents and Short Film Market have worked together towards the realization and growth of TFI Torino Film Industry, intending to enhance - thanks to the collaboration with Torino Film Festival and the National Museum of Cinema - the potentiality of the Turinese cinema system, offering an across-the-board program of events to national and international professionals, and connecting talents and local institutions with the global landscape of audiovisuals.

Promoted by the Region of Piedmont and the City of Turin, realized thanks to the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo - which recognizes the audiovisual industry as an important driving force for the socio-economic development of the City - and supported in various sections by other national and international entities and companies, TFI Torino Film Industry will start on Thursday, November 24, and will go on until Wednesday, November 30, with presentations, pitching sessions, panels, workshops, and one-to-one meetings that will again take place in the historic location of the Circolo dei lettori in Turin and that for this year will also involve the Accademia delle Scienze, which will be the scene of the activities of IDS - Italian Doc Screenings.

We are glad to renew our support to Torino Film Industry, Film Commission Torino Piemonte’s project that collects and networks three big events that focus on professionals of the industry: the Production Days organized by the Film Commission itself, TorinoFilmLab Italia organized by the National Museum of Cinema, and the Talents & Short Film Market organized by Aiace Nazionale - this is the statement of Francesca Gambetta, responsible of the “Creare Attrattività dell’Obiettivo Cultura” (Create Attraction for the Culture Goal) of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. “Through pitches, panels, workshops, masterclasses, and one-to-one meetings focusing on the professionals of the industry, this important event confirms its ability to create connections and new relationships between local and national producers and international players. We think it is coherent, then, to support Torino Film Industry in the scope of the Create Attraction for the Culture Goal Mission, as we are convinced of its strategic role in the development of the Piedmontese audiovisual industry and for the appeal that it has on our territory”.

The program of TFL ITALIA (organized by TorinoFilmLab - National Museum of Cinema) will get the event started, which will then go on with the PRODUCTION DAYS organized by Film Commission Torino Piemonte and, following, with TSFM vol. 7 (TALENTS AND SHORT FILM MARKET, formerly known as Torino Short Film Market) and the activities of the partner event IDS Italian Doc Screenings.

Every edition of TFI Torino Film Industry and the organization of the Production Days present a challenge for the Film Commission Torino Piemonte and at the same time a great satisfaction, starting from the various and eminent collaborations that are renewing and expanding each year and the across-the-board offer that we can offer to local professionals and to the national and international industry” comments Paolo Manera, Director of FCTP, and he adds: “for this edition as well, the Production Days program is capable of intercepting and involving players and partners of national and international caliber, as to keep improving the success of the event: 01 Distribution, Amazon, Netflix, Paramount +, Rai Cinema, Rai Documentari, Sky Studios, Warnes Bros.Discovery together with relevant names of Italian production such as Fenix Entertainment, Indigo Film, I Wonder, Lucky Red, Viola Film, Wildside; these are some of the businesses that chose to actively join the Production Days beside the most dynamic Piedmontese businesses, just to show how much the initiative has been able to find a specific placement between the B2B events of the Italian audiovisual industry”.

TALENTS AND SHORT FILM MARKET – November 27, 28, 29, 30

The Talents and Short Film Market will begin its seventh edition this year, which will take place in a hybrid form (from the 27th to the 30th of December live in Turin at the Circolo dei Lettori, the National Museum of Cinema and the Cinema Romano, and from the 1st to the 4th of December online). The TSFM, counting participants from over 90 countries, is the main market targeted for short cinema in Italy.

It is an honor for us to present the seventh edition of Talents and Short Film Market. We changed our name, but our mission stays the same: to give value to the role of short films in the cinematographic industry”, so declare the artistic director Enrico Vannucci and the organization director Eugénie Bottereau. “For this year as well, we will host various pitches dedicated to all the phases of planning and producing a short film, and for its possible transformation into a feature film to show the richness of talents in today’s landscape. IDS ITALIAN DOC SCREENINGS - November 27 and 28, Accademia delle Scienze
PARTNER EVENT OF TFI TORINO FILM INDUSTRY

For the third consecutive year, TFI Torino Film Industry will host - as a “Partner Event” - the XVI edition of IDS Italian Doc Screening, the leading event of Doc/it - Associazione Documentaristi Italiani. The seventh edition of the Academy section of IDS, addressed to authors looking for producers, will consist of three days of intensive training guided by the Turinese producers Massimo Arvat and Edoardo Fracchia, and it will end with a public pitch in front of an audience of producers and experts of the industry.
To enrich the IDS program, there will also be panels and networking events at the spaces of the Accademia delle Scienze, and the award ceremony of the Doc/it Professional Award on the 28th of November, at the Cinema Romano and in collaboration with the Torino Film Festival.

According to the President of Doc/it Francesco Virga, “IDS 2022 renews the training and informative offer that Doc/it directs toward the Italian documentary community. For this year, the concept of the project is conveyed by a golden cloud, a symbol of the rain that spreads on the mass of creative biodiversity and prevents monoculture. This is what IDS does: prepare the ground through specific upgrades so that talents, innovative languages, and sustainable and efficient production methods may grow”.

THE COLLABORATION WITH TORINO FILM FESTIVAL

The 5th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry will feature a section of 10 “industry” shows, which will be offered to the public and the accredited guests of the 40th Torino Film Festival (Turin, November 25th - December 3r)  in specific hours - between 3 pm and 7 pm, from the 26th to the 30th of November - at the Sala 3 of the Cinema Romano.
This section, called “Torino Film Industry Screenings” is a new addition to the 2022 edition of TFI and it was made possible by the - more solid than ever - a collaboration with the Torino Film Festival organized by the National Museum of Cinema.
A never-seen-before program made up of 10 titles (check them out HERE) that the partner businesses of TFI Torino Film Industry have chosen and agreed on with the Torino Film Festival; it will display short films and country in focus of the Talents and Short Film Market, documentaries and feature films supported by Film Commission Torino Piemonte, feature films developed by TorinoFilmLab thanks to its international training events, and the awards ceremony of the Doc/it Professional Award (in addition to the screening of the winning documentary of IDS Academy).

The synergy between TFF and TFI is further reinforced by the possibility for all TFI accredited guests to buy a TFF pass at a discounted rate: a benefit that is meant to highlight in a tangible way the synergy between the festival and the network of workers that will bring decision-makers and national and international professionals to the City.
