The 6th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry gets to the heart of the matter, exhibiting at the Biennale di Venezia news and partners of the market that will be back from the 23rd to the 29th of November, 2023 - in conjunction and synergy with the 41st edition of the Torino Film Festival - and from Monday, September 11th will open its accreditation campaign.

The activities offered by the three longstanding "main partners" and founders of the initiative, which are Film Commission Torino Piemonte, TorinoFilmLab by the National Museum of Cinema, and Talents & Short Film Market, are once again confirmed, to which the program of the three "partners event" goes to add: the reconfirmation of IDS Italian Doc Screenings and the innovations from Lovers Goes Industry and onLive Campus.

The Italian Pavilion organized by Cinecittà at the Excelsior Hotel hosted the presentation of the 6th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry, an initiative created in 2018 to enhance the makings of the Turinese cinema system and provide national and international professionals with an across-the-board program of events that can engage the entire audiovisual industry.

From its creation up to today, the Film Commission Torino Piemonte - which coordinates the whole initiative - has collaborated with TorinoFilmLab and Talents and Short Film Market for the realization and the growth of TFI Torino Film Industry, contributing to the development of a market that was able, in time, to position itself as the work & business soul of the Torino Film Festival, which is realized by the National Museum of Cinema - just like TorinoFilmLab and Lovers Film Festival.

Promoted by the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin, TFI Torino Film Industry will take off on Thursday, November 23, and will continue until Wednesday, November 29: pitching sessions, panels, workshops, and one-to-one meetings that will take place again at the longstanding location of the Circolo dei lettori of Turin. It will be the program of TFL ITALIA (organized by TorinoFilmLab) to launch the activities along with the activities of LOVERS GOES INDUSTRY, continuing with the PRODUCTION DAYS organized by the Film Commission Torino Piemonte and, to follow, TSFM vol. 8 with ONLIVE CAMPUS (TALENTS AND SHORT FILM MARKET, formerly known as Torino Short Film Market) and IDS ITALIAN DOC SCREENINGS.

Kickstarting the activities on November 23, TFL Italia is a section of the TorinoFilmLab born to nourish the cooperation between the national and the international industry. The subjects of the 2023 action will be the eight teams that will be selected - four Italian projects and four international ones with strong co-productive potential - to participate in the 3-day workshop, up until TFI’s presentation on the 23rd. Furthermore, to allow them to meet other potential partners and expand their networks, the producers will have the possibility to take part in the TFL Meeting Event (November 24 and 25).

During the same day, Lovers Film Festival will offer a whole day of activities - panels, pitch sessions, and one-to-one meetings - in which the IV edition of Lovers Goes Industry will merge with TFI, to strengthen Turin as a fundamental networking place for the industry that works in LGBTQI+-themed cinema.

Friday 24 and Saturday 25, Film Commission Torino Piemonte will present the new edition of Production Days, a co-production meeting conceived to greet decision-makers and professionals of the international audiovisual industry while engaging with beginners, students, and young people who are just now approaching the world of cinema and its industry. Networking events, panels, workshops, and one-to-one meetings that want to put the spotlight of the international production ecosystem on Piedmontese professionals and companies.

On Sunday, November 26 it will be the turn of onLive Campus, a “new entry” in TFI6: designed by the Piemonte dal Vivo foundation, with the scientific direction of Simone Arcagni, professor at the Palermo University, onLive Campus is the first format in Italy that merges the artistic compartment with institutions, policymakers, companies, and academic world to reflect on the relationship between performing arts and new technologies.

After the success of the Summer Event that took place in Südtirol/Alto Adige during the 2023 summer, TSFM vol. 8 - eight edition (Talents and Short Film Market) will take place from the 27th to the 29th of November in Turin, as an essential part of Torino Film Industry. Formerly known as Torino Short Film Market, it was founded in 2016 as an international market focusing mainly on the short film ecosystem. TSFM aims to promote the growth of the short film industry in Europe and the world. Furthermore, the goal of TSFM is to improve the impact of the short film and its professional industry on a wider cinematographic business and to nourish the development of new cinematographic authors and talents.

For the fourth year in a row, TFI will host - as a “Partner Event” - the XVII edition of IDS Italian Doc Screenings (Sunday the 26th and Monday the 27th of November), leading event of Doc/it - Associazione Documentaristi Italiani with meetings dedicated to news and themes of most interest in the world of documentary films. Within IDS, the Academy section, oriented toward authors who are looking for producers, will also offer three days of intensive training that will end with a public pitch in front of an audience of producers and experts in the industry.

To show the partnership and the attention that Torino Film Festival reserves to TFI, a novel program of “industry” showings will be offered, an initiative that was inaugurated the previous year, which will offer to the public and accredited guests a selection of titles that will be chosen by the partner institutions of TFI Torino Film Industry and agreed upon with the Torino Film Festival.

It will be possible to take part in the TFI entire program through a single accreditation that will be available for requests - with an early bird price of € 10 from the 11th until the 30th of September - on the website www.torinofilmindustry.it
